If you’ve been searching for a healthy snacking alternative, look no further. Get your hands on some crispy Common Farms’ kale chips coated with a tangy and rich cashew vegan cheese sauce!
We’re thrilled to release these limited edition kale chips in collaboration with Chef Tiffany Lau of Soulistic. A plant-based chef and nutritionist, Tiffany has been a long-time supporter of Common Farms and is dedicated to helping you make better plant-based lifestyle choices.
Sustainability and nutrition at the heart of it all.
Finding ways to be more sustainable in our production has always been a priority for us. For these chips, we wanted to make sure that our unsold and experimental crops weren’t going to waste. On a farm, it’s unlikely that you’ll be able to sell 100% of your produce (though urban farms close to their consumer base generally have less wastage than large-scale rural farms). While we already manage most of our waste stream by composting, we wanted to capture a greater portion of our unsold produce still in peak condition - before it hit the compost pile.
Our search for a solution led us to work with plant-based chef, Tiffany Lau, who is also on a mission to be support local produce and a sustainable diet. Her expertise in vegan cooking provided the inspiration for these cheesy kale chips.
The chips are made from a mix of our Peacock, Kaleidoscope, and Russian kale varieties. They’re dried until crispy and coated with Tiffany’s cashew-based vegan cheese sauce. Since they’re produced at a cool temperature, under 45C, most of the nutrients that would otherwise be lost in cooking are kept intact.
This collaboration represents a lot of hard work that goes into growing some of the best local produce around, and doing it in a sustainable way. Most importantly, this snack will delight your taste buds and keep you well nourished at the same time.
