Wood sorrel is a type of oxalis. Also known as purple shamrock and scientifically, oxalis trangularis. Oxalis literally means “sour” and it gets the name from its oxalic acid content.
Appearance: Vibrant purple. Three leaflets (similar to clover) that resemble butterfly wings. Leaves close up after harvest.
